PENSACOLA, FL–(Marketwired – November 06, 2015) – On October 20, 2015, Pensacola Business Radio welcomed to the studio Jay Smith with Data Revolution. Host Keith Hoffert sat down with Smith to talk about cloud technology and serving the small to medium size business market in Pensacola.
Jay Smith is the Managing Partner with Data Revolution, a company that provides and supports cloud based technology services for small and medium businesses in Northwest Florida. Their mission is to make cloud technology easy and affordable for small and medium businesses while fostering a work environment for its teammates that recognizes and rewards great customer service and long term relationships. Smith is a Voice and Data Solution Design veteran with almost 20 years of experience in professional sales and sales management in both Telecommunications and Technology.
Data Revolution’s sweet spot is serving the small business community. “Data Revolution was born out of seeing small businesses feel trapped in their technology,” explained Smith. “A lot of time, it was obsolete, it was expensive, they didn’t really understand what they had, it wasn’t really doing what they thought it would do for them. And it’s the recurring theme that they always think ‘I can’t afford to get out of this stuff.’ So Data Revolution has the mindset of let’s make it simple to understand, let’s make it affordable for small businesses and keep it in layman’s terms.”
Smith provides design and implementation solutions for business clients by providing key performance indicators that can be benchmarked technically and financially after implementation.

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – November 06, 2015) – On October 21, 2015, On The Money welcomed to the studio Joey Stuckey. Host Joe Moss sat down with Stuckey to talk about the exciting world of the music industry and why music is so important to business.
Joey Stuckey is the owner and president of Joey Stuckey Music & Shadow Sound Studios. Stuckey is an award-winning blind guitarist, songwriter, singer, composer, producer, radio and television personality, music columnist, educator and sound engineer. He is also the official music ambassador for his home town of Macon, Georgia. Stuckey’s guitar style is reminiscent of rocker Jeff Beck and jazzer Wes Montgomery, while his vocal influences range from Mel Torme to Gregg Allman.
Stuckey is currently involved with students, instructing them on guitar, voice, music theory, and sound engineering. He is the professor of Music Technology at Mercer University and an official mentor for the Recording Connections School in Los Angeles. Recently, Stuckey has taken on the role of music publisher and has a growing catalog of songs in multiple genres. His publishing companies include Sociology Publishing (BMI) and Sign Wave Publishing (ASCAP).
As a musician and business owner, Stuckey has a unique approach to his music. “You have to figure out who your audience is so you do have to kind of label things. But I just love to play music — I love country, I love rock, I love classical, I love jazz. That’s the blessing of being a recording engineer and producer because I get to play so many different styles of music.”
Stuckey spoke directly to the business of music and how it correlates to business in general. “There’s a wonderful military saying that says ‘No great plan withstands contact with the enemy.’ I’ve taken that mantra and I use it in my business. Just because I have a good plan that makes sense and sounds like it’s good, by the time we actually interact with people who are dynamic and not static, just because a good plan doesn’t work doesn’t mean you’re doing the wrong thing. You just need to be flexible and be able to try and do something different.”
Stuckey treated listeners to his rendition of “Georgia On My Mind.” To hear him perform, as well as talk more about his music background and career, listen to the entire interview at On The Money.

ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – November 05, 2015) – On October 18, 2015, DeKalb Business Today welcomed to the studio Broc Fischer with the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce, Mark Frost with Jim Ellis GM Brands, Adam Causey with the City of Chamblee and Dan Pappas with the Chamblee Downtown Development Authority. Host Matt Holmes led a roundtable discussion with these business leaders from the city of Chamblee to talk about how far Chamblee has come since the recession and how they plan to grow in the future.
Broc Fischer serves as the President of the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce. The mission of the Chamblee Chamber is to advocate and promote the business interests of the diverse community that makes up Chamblee. Through a partnership with all levels of government and organizations, they guide, support and nurture positive business growth. As President, Fischer is focused on efforts to grow the membership of the Chamblee Chamber.
Joining in the conversation was Mark Frost, VP of Operations with Jim Ellis GM Brands. Jim Ellis car dealerships have brought much commerce to the community of Chamblee. “Jim Ellis has eight dealerships in Chamblee, plus a central collision center on Peachtree Road, and we also have four dealerships out in Kennesaw/Marietta and one up in Buford,” explained Frost. “We employ about 1,000 people and this year we’ll sell about 25,000 cars. We should do about $1Billion in sales, and 60% is from the Chamblee campus.”
Frost went on to describe the growth and improvement he’s seen in Chamblee. “Eleven years ago when I came to the area, the big talk was that the area was on the decline, everyone needs to get out, needs to move, it’s over. And of course, Mr. Ellis saw it differently, and the last five years they’ve spent tens of millions of dollars renovating every single store in Chamblee and the area has just really come alive and it’s an exciting time for us.”
Rounding out the discussion was Adam Causey, Economic Development Manager for the City of Chamblee and Van Pappas, Vice Chair of the Chamblee Downtown Development Authority. Causey and Pappas talked about spurring development in the city.
To learn more about the City of Chamblee and these featured guests, listen to the entire interview on DeKalb Business Radio.

YEA! Pensacola – Young Entrepreneurs Academy 2015
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a ground-breaking program that takes students through the process of starting and running real businesses over the course of a full academic year.
YEA! students, as a class, visit area businesses, meet successful entrepreneurs, meet with professionals (attorneys, accountants, bankers, graphic designers, web developers, insurance providers, etc.), develop a business or social movement idea and plan, and work with mentors.
Students then pitch their ideas to a panel of investors made up of local business and community leaders with real dollars at stake to obtain funding, and then launch their venture. By the end of the class, students own and operate fully functioning businesses.
YEA! classes meet Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m. at the University of West Florida’s campus from November through May.

Students in grades 6 to 12, from Santa Rosa and Escambia County are encouraged to APPLY NOW!

Cierra Moore / Coterie Beads
CEO
Coterie Beads is a female owned, sole proprietorship that imports and sells, beautiful, unique, affordable women’s jewelry, from 5 countries. My name is Ceirra Moore and I’m the 11 year old CEO of Coterie Beads. I began my business because, like a lot of ladies, one day my mind just told me to by a piece of jewelry. Sadly, most of the jewelry in my local area was either, typical and kind of boring, above my price range or completely fake. I knew there had to be a solution and importing and selling my own jewelry was it. Through a 30 week Young Entrepreneurs Academy Program, I learned the skills and received the funding necessary to do just that. Like the YEA motto said, I began as a student and finished as a CEO!
