Connie Majure-Rhett– The Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce
Connie Majure-Rhett, a native of Columbia, SC, is president and CEO of the Greater Wilmington (NC) Chamber of Commerce, a position she has held since April 4, 1994. Majure-Rhett has more than 35 years of experience in chamber of commerce management, having served on chamber staffs in Charlotte, NC; Cobb County, GA, and Atlanta, GA.
Prior to joining the Wilmington Chamber, Majure-Rhett spent three years in Washington, DC, serving as vice president of National Small Business United, a non-partisan small business lobbying group. Her many involvements in the community include serving on the Convention Center Advisory board, the Mayor’s Blue Ribbon for the Prevention of Youth Violence, and UNCW’s Cameron School of Business Executive Advisory Board. She is a past board member of Leadership North Carolina, the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research and the North Carolina Film Commission. A Rotarian, she is a Paul Harris Fellow and past president of the Wilmington Rotary Club.
Connie was named the 1998 Wilmington YWCA Woman of Achievement for Business and Industry. She was also named North Carolina Chamber of Commerce Executive of the Year in 2001. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina, she is also a graduate of the Institute for Organization Management, Georgia Tech’s Economic Development Institute and Leadership North Carolina. She has completed the Center for Creative Leadership’s chamber executive program and, in 2000, earned the professional chamber management designation, CCE (Certified Chamber Executive).
Connie is married to Haskell Smith Rhett III and is stepmother to 27 year-old Hannah and 25 year-old Walter. She considers Maddie, her standard poodle, her third child.
Rob Gerlach- TLCC, LLC
Rob Gerlach, as a Senior Partner of TLCC, LLC, specializes in transformational leadership development within the context of implementing strategic projects that are targeting transformational results (learn while doing). He has been in the business of developing transformational leaders since 1990.
Rob was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and attended Cleveland State University where he earned his degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for the DuPont Corporation for 30 years, serving in numerous management roles in a number of locations. Rob earned the reputation of being an “agent of change”, which led to his becoming an internal consultant in 1990. In 1993, Rob left DuPont to form his own consulting business.
Rob has significant experience in strategic planning and strategic project implementation, as well as coaching leaders to develop transformational leadership behaviors and skills that inspire employees to achieve “step change” results.
