But that is no excuse not to add onions to your diet. They have lots of health benefits like flavenoids which has been shown to help lower blood pressure, lower your risk of colon cancer and is an anti-bacterial. When picking out an onion avoid the ones that have sprouts coming out of them. And cooking them does lower the vitamin content a little bit. And don’t store them in the refrigerator either.
