February is American Heart Month. To raise awareness about heart health, Eastside Medical Center hosted a Ladies Night Out for Heart Health on February 11, 2020. Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer in women, claiming the lives of 1 in 3 women – more than all forms of cancer, accidents, and diabetes combined. Fortunately, 80% of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.
Eastside Medical Center is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI from the Society of Chest Pain Centers, , the highest national accreditation possible for emergency heart care. When minutes matter, Eastside is equipped to quickly treat heart attacks close to home. Their experienced cardiologists offer comprehensive heart care including the treatment of coronary artery disease, heart attacks, heart failure, and heart rhythm abnormalities as well as offering preventative care for those at risk of heart disease.
During Ladies Night Out, women were invited to meet and experience vendors the are available for them in the community, allow them to taste and enjoy healthy foods, and hear from Eastside cardiologists who provided education about heart-healthy changes women can make that can be life saving.
