BRX Pro Tip: Answering the Reach Question Transcript
Stone Payton: [00:00:01] And we are back with BRX Pro Tips. Lee Kantor and Stone Payton here with you. Lee, when you get the reach question, when someone asked you about the reach of Business RadioX, or a specific studio, or a show, how do you answer that?
Lee Kantor: [00:00:14] Reach is one of those words that the person who doesn’t know anything asks. And the true definition of reach is how many people could possibly hear this. And in traditional media, it used to be how far the signal was from the radio tower, or the TV tower, or whatever. And the internet changes everything, obviously. So, the reach is always the entire planet. Anybody can listen to these shows. They’re broadcast live. Anybody who has an internet connection can listen to any of our work at anytime. They can, also, if they have an internet connection, listen to any of the old stuff at any time they want. So, the reach is the planet. But that’s not usually what they’re trying to find out. They want to know how many people listen. And then, the listening question then opens up that can of worms of how big is the audience. So, obviously, the potential audience is the planet, and then their real audience is a subset of that.
