ATLANTA, GA–(Marketwired – November 05, 2015) – On October 18, 2015, DeKalb Business Today welcomed to the studio Broc Fischer with the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce, Mark Frost with Jim Ellis GM Brands, Adam Causey with the City of Chamblee and Dan Pappas with the Chamblee Downtown Development Authority. Host Matt Holmes led a roundtable discussion with these business leaders from the city of Chamblee to talk about how far Chamblee has come since the recession and how they plan to grow in the future.
Broc Fischer serves as the President of the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce. The mission of the Chamblee Chamber is to advocate and promote the business interests of the diverse community that makes up Chamblee. Through a partnership with all levels of government and organizations, they guide, support and nurture positive business growth. As President, Fischer is focused on efforts to grow the membership of the Chamblee Chamber.
Joining in the conversation was Mark Frost, VP of Operations with Jim Ellis GM Brands. Jim Ellis car dealerships have brought much commerce to the community of Chamblee. “Jim Ellis has eight dealerships in Chamblee, plus a central collision center on Peachtree Road, and we also have four dealerships out in Kennesaw/Marietta and one up in Buford,” explained Frost. “We employ about 1,000 people and this year we’ll sell about 25,000 cars. We should do about $1Billion in sales, and 60% is from the Chamblee campus.”
Frost went on to describe the growth and improvement he’s seen in Chamblee. “Eleven years ago when I came to the area, the big talk was that the area was on the decline, everyone needs to get out, needs to move, it’s over. And of course, Mr. Ellis saw it differently, and the last five years they’ve spent tens of millions of dollars renovating every single store in Chamblee and the area has just really come alive and it’s an exciting time for us.”
Rounding out the discussion was Adam Causey, Economic Development Manager for the City of Chamblee and Van Pappas, Vice Chair of the Chamblee Downtown Development Authority. Causey and Pappas talked about spurring development in the city.
